The Mountain Glacier Necklace

The chiseled, blue, marbleized stones of this necklace remind me of the glaciers of Mt. Everest.

From the base of Everest, you can peer up and see those beautiful glaciers -- soaring, majestic mountains of ice. They're tens of thousands of years old, but they're still making an impact, winding around and shaping the world's highest mountain.

If only those seas of ice could talk. I wonder what they would tell us.

The Tranquility Bracelet

Picture this: I'm running late for work, the kids woke up late and I was told that they (I) need to have a dozen cupcakes ready for the school bake sale.

So I reach for mother's little helper -- my bracelet made from wood, fresh water pearls and glass.

I slip it on and I'm taking a tranquil walk in the woods to a beautiful mountain lake where time stands still. I hear the rustling of the trees, the birds singing their song and the quiet lapping of the lake on the smooth, warm rocks.

Next thing I know, I'm back home saying, "Now, who needed those cupcakes?"

The Orange Sherbet Earrings

Hot days ain't so bad.

My orange stone earrings take me back to those hot summer days when I'm sitting on a rope swing under the large maple tree in my backyard. To keep cool I'm enjoying a delicious orange sherbet.

I love its cool, sweet deliciousness on my tongue as the hot summer sun cascades between the maple leaves.

The Serengeti Bracelet

It can be cold and snowy outside now, but one look at this shell and clay bracelet and I'm taken to the warm beaches of Kenya where I can hunt for shells, and ride the waves one day and go on an exciting safari the next.

Riding through the golden plains of the Serengeti, in the hopes of spotting lions, giraffes or wildebeest is truly exhilarating.

For me, jewelry is art. It can help take your mind on a journey, to recollect and to imagine. It helps tell a story. Its born from inspiration, and often from other art.

Here is my Marrakesh bracelet made from colorful stones and decorated glass. It reminds me of the bazzars you'd find in Morocco, that wonderfully exotic place on the north coast of Africa and within sight of Spain.

What a wonderful feeling to slip it on and take the trip there!
